RISING ABOVE ORDINARY

Locally Operated.  Hawaii Owned.  Committed.

More than ten years ago, Pacific Media Group made a commitment to evolve from the status quo. This investment has paid off.

While many print, TV and radio groups are finally getting serious about changing their business model in order to survive, Pacific Media Group has experienced significant growth in recent years, through managed risk-taking, strategic acquisitions and product innovation. Many years of hard work and more than $11M of product development and acquisition investments, have disrupted the ordinary media business model here in Hawaii. PMG offers the only true multi-platform media suite in the State with:

Radio + Digital + Out-of-Home + TV

Sherri Hamamura Grimes

Vice President
General Manager, Maui Radio Operations

Sherri GrimesA 4th generation of Japanese descent in Hawai’i, born and raised on the Island of Kaua’i on a pineapple plantation town of Kalaheo where my family home remains. From the age of four, Hula became part of my daily life; learning chants, music, playing instruments, silk-screening, and sewing costumes, drumming and the perpetuation of Hawaiian culture. Known as Wailana in the hula community, my fond memories of Hula are from the many hikes, practices, competitions, travels and being featured in National Geographic Magazine.

After school and on weekends, I worked at my family business, Island Service, which is now being leased to Shell Corporation. Customer service is the key to the success of my family-owned business. Sales and Marketing became a natural at a young age from selling Christmas Cards and Newspapers door to door.

I moved to the Island of Maui in 1990 and became Director of Promotions, Sales & Marketing for CD Broadcasting. Being acknowledged as an elite performer to receive Platinum Revenue status monthly was my gauge of the many businesses, I felt I was helping to grow and succeed.

In 1999 we then became Pacific Media Group. Continuing with an energetic and enthusiastic style I help lead our stations to top-notch promotions in planning, managing, executing and onsite presences. I feel marketing and promotional expertise is what builds many lasting relationships across the state. In 2019 I took over the management of Pacific Media Group Maui Radio Operations as Vice President & General Manager.

As community remains my focus and being an entrepreneur at heart, I developed Events on Maui and Sherri G Marketing, LLC to touch upon the many interests and true passion of work, which is my Purpose.

For the past 16 years as Managing Director of Maui’s largest event, the Maui Fair, gives me the ultimate fulfillment of bringing Maui County together with many non-profit organizations, clubs, teams, churches, schools, businesses, keiki to kupuna to “perpetuate the traditions, values and culture of generations through participation by all”. My greatest appreciation was being an honoree in Pacific Business News’ 2019 “Women WhoMean Business”.

“My Why” in life is my 3 children who I love spending every opportunity with them from hiking, traveling, cooking, exercising, shopping, dining, volunteering, watching movies and simply justtalking story.
